This workshop would go over basics of media work ranging from how to make and sustain contact with media people to how to put together a Press Release and Press Statement or how to coordinate a Press Conference.
Learn how energy efficiency in your home can create jobs, strengthen communities, reduce your carbon footprint, and slash your utility bills! In particular, you'll have a chance to learn about Weatherize DC, a new organization that is working to integrate environmental justice, economic justice, and communal ownership of the environmental impact of our actions. Representatives from Greater Washington Interfaith Power & Light will help us think about our own responsibility to consider the impact of our electricity use.
A suggested donation of $5 at the door will benefit the work of Greater Washington Interfaith Power & Light, which helps local congregations of all faiths to save energy, go green, and respond to climate change.
At noon on Tuesday, July 20, there will be an interfaith gathering for lament, hope, and action on behalf of Mother Earth at Upper Senate Park on the Senate side of the United States Capitol in Washington. Visit http://www.theshalomcenter.org/node/1738 for more information. RSVP to Vinny Prell at LamentandHope@gmail.com
