The Interpretive Impulse: A hands-on workshop/seminar in 3 parts
Our friends over at Sixth & I, in conjunction with Dvar Tzedek fellow Rachel Farbiaz, are organizing a three-part workshop investigating the meanings and methods of creative interpretation. They will explore what it means to interpret a central text, concept, or object. How do we use our interpretive faculties to make meaning in our lives? How can the interpretive traditions of religion and art inform each other and our creative and spiritual lives? In conjunction with Torah text study, we will engage with works of conceptual art and particularly the "instructional art" practiced by artists like Sol LeWitt.
Tuesdays March 2, 9 & 16 at 7:00 p.m.
