    What would a Jewish response look like when someone asks us for money on the street?What are our Jewish obligations to our neighbors in this city?What could Judaism add to our national conversations around immigration or gentrification?What does "doing justice" even mean? We'll learn and debate some surprisingly modern ancient Jewish texts on social justice, identifying the values and wisdom we can bring into our own lives. All texts provided in translation--no previous knowledge or experience necessary.

    Tikkun Leil Shabbat is a songful, soulful, Sabbath service, featuring a teaching about a social justice issue, followed by a potluck vegetarian dinner.

    As we conclude a year in Baltimore that has been filled with heartache, sadness and loss. The death of Freddie Gray and the upcoming trial of those in whose custody he lost his life has forced our community, indeed our country, to grapple with the consequences of structural and overt racism.
