Job Description:

Jews United for Justice is hiring an Intern for Fall 2008

Jews United for Justice (JUFJ) is a dynamic and growing organization that leads Washington, DC-area Jews to act on our shared Jewish values by pursuing justice and equality in our region.  We connect Jews and Jewish institutions with the tools and opportunities to make a difference and mobilize the Jewish community to act in solidarity with local social justice campaigns.

JUFJ works on a variety of local justice issues including affordable housing, workers' rights, immigration, and socially-conscious consumption.

JUFJ's annual Labor Seder is traditionally our largest event of the year. It attracts 200 members of the Jewish and progressive communities in DC to a Passover seder focused on workers' rights themes. Each year, the seder is tied to a specific JUFJ advocacy campaign, and includes an original hagadah, music, speakers, discussion, a children's program, and sustainably- and locally-grown ritual foods. It consistently serves to strengthen the ties between DC's progressive Jewish community, the local labor movement, and JUFJ's allies in the community.
