DC politics come with all the drama and intrigue of a West Wing episode but do you know the full cast of characters and who holds all the power? Come out to learn what ANCs are, how the Mayor and the DC Council work together, how the DC budget works, and how we as DC residents can access the District’s political system with the greatest potential for social change.

Led by Jews United for Justice and the Fair Budget Coalition, the workshop will provide a clear understanding of the local government and how to access and influence local elected officials, an overview of equity-focused legislation to watch out for, a preview of exciting local elections coming up in DC, and why you should consider running for office in your neighborhood!

A vegetarian dinner will be provided.

There is a $10 program fee for this program. If funds are a barrier to participating or if you have any general questions please don’t hesitate to email Sonya.

Please note that as a 501(c)3 organization, the Edlavitch DCJCC does not endorse any candidate running for political office through any of its activities.

In partnership with Avodah: The Jewish Service Corps
