DC Fair Price Fair Wage Consumer Awareness Meeting

JUFJ was proud to endorse Initiative 82, which eliminated the subminimum wage for waiters, bartenders, parking lot attendants, nail salon technicians, and others who rely on tips. But now, restaurant owners are trying to undermine the initiative with confusing junk fees to increase their own profits at the expense of workers’ tips. Consumers bear the brunt of the cost, and workers’ earnings are suffering. Join the Fair Price Fair Wage coalition on Zoom to learn more and take action.

Labor Seder: Let all who are hungry come and eat

Each spring, the Labor Seder celebrates the freedom story of the Exodus by connecting it to present day struggles, delivering the tools to take action, and celebrating with food, friends, and song. This year’s Seder, "Let all who are hungry come and eat," will examine how the fight for liberation is reflected in DC street vendors' campaign to be recognized as part of our city's vibrant and diverse community.
