Kari joined JUFJ as the Development Manager in 2021. She brings with her a penchant for data organization, a sense of curiosity, and the heartfelt desire to be an integral part of a strong team and organization. Prior to working at JUFJ, Kari was an integral part of The Phoenix Theatre Company in Phoenix, AZ, Arizona’s largest and oldest producing regional theatre company. She started as an intern in the theatre’s box office in 2013 but found herself bouncing around many departments before settling in her latest role as Database Manager. During her 8 years, she worked backstage as crew to help run shows, served as the event associate for the fundraising team, was promoted to associate and became the fundraising team’s super user for the ticketing/donation software, before another internal promotion to Database Manager.
In her spare time, Kari loves to cook all sorts of delicious vegan foods (everything from cajun spicy chicken sandwiches to salted caramel cheesecakes), sing Broadway/musical karaoke (Beetlejuice is the current favorite), cross stitch/embroider fun gifts for friends, watch ALL of the drag race content available, count down the days to Halloween, read magical realism books, and watch scary movies (Jennifer’s Body is the latest and greatest).
Kari currently lives in Phoenix, AZ with her spouse, Cameron, and street cat turned house kitty, Clancy. They look forward to relocating to the DMV area for a change of scenery and to be closer to family and friends. Kari uses she/they pronouns interchangeably.
