Sarah started at JUFJ in November of 2015 working on affordable housing campaigns in DC. Now, as our DC Director, she oversees all of the DC issue campaign work, and directly supports the DC Leadership Council and racial equity campaigns and core team. At our sister organization, the JUFJ Campaign Fund, Sarah directs fundraising for DC electoral work, the DC candidate endorsements, and Councilmember accountability work, including the DC Council scorecard.
Before JUFJ, Sarah spent about 10 years in education as a teacher, student, and researcher, earning a Master’s degree in elementary special education and an education doctorate focusing on childhood and adolescent social and emotional development in schools. Sarah loves spending time by the water and in the mountains, being the rebbetzin (Rabbi’s partner) of the New Synagogue Project, and having spontaneous dance parties with her partner, Yosef, and their two kids.
