Labor on the Bimah at 6th & I

September 2, 2022 | 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Silhouettes of heads with a scale

Before Labor Day, Rabbi Nora and musicians Aaron Shneyer, Sarah Fredrick, and Jeff Geld lead a Shabbat service that weaves together labor issues, social justice, and Judaism.

Hear from Sixth & I’ers fighting to protect the rights of workers, Hannah Garelick of Jews United for Justice, Altagracia Kubinyi of the National Domestic Workers Alliance, and organizers from Dulce Hogar—a worker-owned house cleaning cooperative—about the impact of collectively owning their own business.

At this in-person event (with a virtual attendance option), proof of vaccination is required. Masks must be worn at all times except when actively eating or drinking during the happy hour before services. Sixth & I’s food and beverage policy is subject to change based on the state of the pandemic and local guidelines. Please review our health and safety protocols here. Advance registration is required and walk-ups are not permitted.
